Also, let’s not forget that in 2016 the government began implementing filtering mechanisms to block specific websites or apps.

These measures were enacted by the Parliament and were not up for the debate, which was concerning for both digital freedom and free speech advocates.

These changes enabled Polish authorities to crack down on online gambling domains. ISPs were quick to comply to block sites likes Marathonbet, Bet-at-home, and Vulkanbet, since they otherwise risked a fine of up to PLN 250,000.
